Investment Model
What is a MIC?
A mortgage investment corporation or MIC is an Investment and Lending vehicle designed specifically for Residential Mortgages in Canada.

Investing in a MIC enables you to invest in a managed and diversified pool of mortgages. Shares of a MIC are Qualified Investments under the Income Tax Act (Canada) for Registered Tax Accounts, including RRSP, RRIF, TFSA, and RESPs. Profits generated by MICs are distributed to its Investors according to their proportional interest. The mortgages are secured on real properties, often in conjunction with other forms of security such as: personal guarantees, blanket security agreements, and assignments of material contracts (i.e. insurance policies prepared by lawyers for the MIC).
